Education Resource Fund
We partnered with Education Resource Fund (ERF) to revamp their digital presence by building a fast, flexible website and a seamless mobile app. Using AWS services, we developed an API and integrated Vimeo for optimized video delivery. The result is a consistent, user-friendly experience across platforms, enhancing content accessibility and supporting ERF’s mission to reach and engage their audience.

Problem
- Education Resource Fund (ERF) is a nonprofit that produces free high quality video and image content for the medical community centered around prenatal health.
- They have two audiences: potential donors and users
- Their previous website was slow and it was difficult to find relevant content.
- There was a huge amount of valuable content but no one could access it.
- They were uploading massive video files to a basic wordpress site without optimization.
- Website was slow - bad user experience
- No mobile optimization. Unusable on small screens.
- Needed a web solution that would allow them to showcase their high quality work
- Their users were also asking for a mobile app experience to make mobile browsing faster and easier - content needed to be accessible and engaging.
Solution
- ERF was introduced to Studio12 through a referral.
- Studio12 kicked off the project with a full site audit to determine the best way to approach the build.
NEW PAGE BUILDER
The current page builder was outdated and bloated.
The first thing Studio12 did was architect the site using a new page builder and reimagined the layout and UX to make the site easier to use.
OPTIMIZED VIDEO CONTENT
- The previous site experience had massive embedded video files which slowed performance and page load speed.
- Videos took forever to load and were not easily accessible.
- Studio12 migrated all of the videos from WordPress to Vimeo and built an API using AWS services to manage content delivery.
- Now the website is lighting fast and videos load instantly.
OPTIMIZED VIDEO CONTENT
- The previous site experience was not optimized for mobile and it was virtually impossible to access the site on a mobile or tablet device.
- The Studio12 team decided to use React Native for the mobile app.
- They used the website design as a foundation for the mobile app to make the branding and UX consistent.
- The mobile app, combined with the new APIs made mobile browsing fast, easy, and intuitive.
- Users can now get the information they need on the go.
